I had the privilege to be born in a christian home where love, hope and loving God was the center of our lives. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior around 5 yrs old. I was baptized by my father and other pastors when I was 10 years old. I watched my parents served God with fervor and commitment, this had a great effect on my life. I grew up loving God, singing hymns, praying every meal, going to every church service, hearing the Word of God most of the time. I consider myself tremendously blessed to have had this influence in my life.
I had a heart for God and ministry while I was young, but I didn't know what God wanted for my future. When I was to graduate from High school, I had options for my career, I always found law interesting, although my ministry experienced had hold of me in a great way. I had serve in the children and youth ministry; I definitely loved teaching the Bible. I wanted Him to guide me with His scripture to confirm me that He wanted me to dedicate my life to His service. I prayed asking God for guidance, I went on my knees, prayed and opened up my Bible and I opened up Isaiah 42. The Lord's chosen servant chapter. I know that this chapter is prophetic about the Messiah, but it also applies to the church of God. This scripture gave me such an encouragement and confirmation that I knew I wanted to work for the Kingdom of God.
One Saturday night, on a youth service, I was about to testify about how God called me and I wanted to share the scripture, but I couldn't find it. I was sad because I had forgotten the book and chapter, I only recalled 22. Desperately, I looked all over from Genesis to Revelation in every 22 chapter. My time to share was next, and I didn't have the scripture. I closed my eyes and prayed, "Dear God if you gave me that scripture once you can give it to me again now" I got a new Bible, opened it and there it was. Isaiah 42. I wanted to jump from my chair to chair and yell, miracle, miracle!! I was overwhelm by joy and thankfulness in my heart towards God.
God was compassionate enough to come and reveal himself to me in a very unique and personal way. The same year, with God's help, I went to a Bible school for four years, . He provided for my studies, my needs and he proved himself to me, every time I needed him.
Sometimes we forget important things and this is one of them for me. I don't want to forget what God has done for me, therefore my testimony. He's leading my life and taking me where he wants me to be. I have no doubts that He will finish the work He started in me. I know that I have a calling from God and my only prayer is to be worthy of His calling.
God has a plan for each one of us, and my prayer for you is that you listen to His voice and know that He is the same God from the Old Testament. He's all powerful and at the same time reachable to us. He desires to have a real and personal relationship with you. He's willing to touch your life and give meaning to it.
Jesus is the hope for this world and for your life. As the scripture says, "Look, Here I stand at the door and knock. If you hear me calling and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal as friends" Revelation 3:20
